ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND

My love of golf first started in Scotland, I was a keen golfer from an early age, playing off a handicap of 2 by the time I was 14. At age 16, I was fortunate to be given an opportunity to do some Summer work with the maintenance crew at the famous St Andrew’s Golf Course, which is where my interest in greenkeeping began.

This was just the beginning to a life-long commitment and successful career.

During my studies at Michigan State University I gained valuable working experience across the USA, including at the following prestigious courses:

– THE COUNTRY CLUB, CLEVELAND, OHIO
– LA QUINTA RESORT & CLUB, LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA

– BAY HILL CLUB & LODGE, ORLANDO, FLORIDA

THE ROYAL GOLF CLUB CABO NEGRO, MOROCCO

Between 1986 and 1994 I spent time working with warm season grasses, establishing maintenance programs on newly constructed courses in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. As well as some time in the cooler climate of the UK. The golf courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, Cabell B. Robinson and Alliss & Clark Golf Designs

PRESIDENT COUNTRY CLUB, BANGKOK,THAILAND

In 1994, I moved to Bangkok where I worked at the renowned President Country Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr. I developed a Course maintenance staff training program,, was responsible for “Grow-in” of the 36 hole complex. During my time at the club we hosted the Kosaido Thailand Ladies Open and Volvo Masters of Thailand.

MONTECASTILLO GOLF COURSE, JEREZ, SPAIN

In 1998, after moving back to Europe, I founded Wallace Golf Management S.L.
